It is a term first used by O'Reilly Media and as a name for a service of web development conferences that started in 2004. It refers to Application Development for the world wide web.
It is the new buzz word for whatever is newly popular on the web. It includes such things as:
social networking services, wikis, blogs, tags, podcasting and much more.

What is Web 2.0? When I began this assignment I did not know. I'm not sure I understand yet but here goes. Web 2.0 is the tools that allow you to add to, change, delete, modify anything that is done on the web. Anything that is new and popular on the web like Facebook, MySpace, wikis, blogs, tags, podcasting etc. That means putting your stamp on it to make it yours.
